25th KTFC WITH A MAGICAL JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH

23/6/2017 | 2 Comments

Kotor Festival of Theatre for Children will celebrate its 25th jubilee edition – a quarter of a century of its existence. The Opening Ceremony will be enriched with the performance of our dear guests from Spain - Dance troupe Roseland Musical from Barcelona, who will perform their amazing performance Journey to the center of the Earth, on Saturday, July 1, at 9:30 p.m.

Based on a Jules Verne’s novel by same name, the authors combined audio-visual direction by Franc Aleu, choreography by Anna Planas and screenplay Manuel Veiga to create a Jules Verne’s production for the twenty-first century, recommended for the age 7 and above.
Two sisters, Eva and Ava, (Cristina Miralles and Amanda Rubio) decide to follow in the footsteps of their ancestor and go to Iceland, where they meet Hans (Marcos Elvira) the guide who will lead them on a journey to the center of the planet. The two sisters are very different: one lives in the world of science and technology; whilst the other is romantic, a true humanist. But their different knowledge will be most useful during a descent in which they will encounter amazing beings and landscapes, as well as cultural residues that humanity has left behind over time. Our dancers-cum-leading actors will perform classical choreographies, breakdance, and contemporary dance as they travel through underground worlds produced using digital imagery. To this end, Franc Aleu, an audio-visual artist who has worked in theater, dance, and opera productions seen on some of the world’s most famous stages, creates all kinds of moving images and virtual characters.

Main Theatre Program, which will be held from July 1 – 12, 2017, will be the richest so far. The audience will have an opportunity to see and enjoy twenty professional performances of various genres for both children and youth.
