KFTC: NATURE AND SOCIETY by ZAGREB YOUTH THEATER

25/5/2017 | 0 Comments

Kotor Festival of Theatre for Children will celebrate its 25th jubilee edition – a quarter of a century of its existence. Main Theatre Program, which will be held from July 1 – 12, 2017, will be the richest so far. The audience will have an opportunity to see and enjoy twenty professional performances of various genres for both children and youth.

This summer birthday celebration will present many different genres of shows - drama, puppetry, audio-visual, dance, music, clowns, inclusive, interactive, non-verbal to the ones that are combined.

Zagreb Youth Theater from Croatia will present itself in Kotor with the show Nature and Society, intended for those over 13 years of age, which will address the serious subject of copyrights on a very interesting way.
Actively working and creating for youth, Zagreb Youth Theater is recognized as place of learning for future professionals and theatrically conscious audience outside its country. With openness to projects of non-institutional scene and tendency toward research and combination of various genres, Zagreb Youth Theater justifiably occupies a position on European theatre scene.

An imaginary TV show Nature and Society will reveal the secret connection between yellow press, W. A. Mozart, selfie sticks and copyrights. What has technology advancement brought to the authors, and what to the consumers of their works? How to explain the concepts of Intellectual property and copyrights to youth and get them to start thinking about acceptable models of their protection? Works of art do not arise spontaneously, in fact behind each of them stands one's work. How do we protect that hard work, you will find out in July.

Like every year, the Festival prepared a rich Side Program, within which children and youth can express their creativity through the art, music, literature, workshops and many other forms, and together with the Festival bring another colourful and joyful summer to Kotor’s streets. Multitude of interesting programs which will generate a wave of children's creativity in Kotor – the town from fairy-tale!
