Kotor Festival of Theatre for Children will celebrate its 25th jubilee edition – a quarter of a century of its existence. Main Theatre Program, which will be held from July 1 – 12, 2017, will be the richest so far. The audience will have an opportunity to see and enjoy twenty professional performances of various genres for both children and youth.
For our youngest audience, aged from 18 months to 5 years, Benoît Sicat, a French visual artist, will perform an interactive show called The Garden of Possible. Using creativity and play as principles for the exploration of the world and for self-construction, as well as utilizing primitive and always contemporary materials - wood, pebbles, leaves, terracotta, objects that will outlive us, the author creates this interactive show. There is no dramaturgy, no pedagogy, no morality, no judgment, no hierarchy. However, there is this mirror, as in any spectacle. Right here, children and adults are on the same plateau, a common territory. We build the city together. No soundtrack, no lyrics. The only rule that imposes itself on all of us is to do as much as possible with as little as possible.
Take a walk in this garden together with the author and you’ll see that the most beautiful things are most often the simplest ones. Leaving room for improvisation and research, this play overcomes linguistic, cultural and generational barriers.
