Another year that will be marked by the most wonderful summer festival in Europe, and certainly more widely still. Traditionally, from July 1 - 12, Kotor Festival of Theatre for children brings together all the theater viewers and connoisseurs, both big and small, and takes them to an unforgettable adventure through the town of Kotor.
This year, our mission is to, besides Kotor, Europe, world, universe, conquer the Moon, with our imagination, and on this trip, Tortoise in A Nutshell and Cumbernauld Theatre from Scotland will join us. Feral - award-winning multimedia show by had a month-long tour in New York, in 59E59 Theaters as part of their Brits off Broadway season. After its Broadway tour, Feral will have its premiere in Kotor.
An innovative performance combining puppetry, object manipulation, immersive soundscapes and multimedia technology, Feral holds a community under the microscope and dissects it in front of its audience’s eyes. Joe looks back at the home of his childhood and traces its journey from idyllic seaside town to community gripped by anarchy. A cross art form piece, Feral, seamlessly blends film and live performance. Puppeteers manipulate and bring to life a tiny world, whilst simultaneously creating a live animation, as they follow its every breath via digital camera.
The show is directed by Ross MacKay, and the performers are: Arran Howie, Ross MacKay, Alex Bird, Jim Harbourne and Mattew Leonard. Theatre Tortoise in A Nutshell participated in 25th KFTC, in 2017 with two shows – The Lost Things and Fisk, and both were awarded by our Expert Jury.
Dear friends, you will get the chance to enjoy this awarded masterpiece on Tuesday, July 9, at 6 and 8 p.m. in Cultural Centre. This 55-minute long show is recommended for ages 12 and above.
