Kotor Festival of Theatre for Children will celebrate its 25th jubilee edition – a quarter of a century of its existence. Main Theatre Program, which will be held from July 1 – 12, 2017, will be the richest so far. The audience will have an opportunity to see and enjoy twenty professional performances of various genres for both children and youth.
From Serbia, we will be joined by our guests from Zemun Theater (Belgrade), who will perform a musical named The Magical Lyre, directed by Mateja Popović, on Monday, July 3, at 9:30 p.m. on the Summer Stage. Intended for the age 5+.
The Magical Lyre is, first of all, a show about music, but also about friendship, love, and true values. Princes Mirko and Saško have the same goal, to win Princess Symphony’s hand in marriage. One wants it out of love, the other for personal benefit. One is loved by the princess; the other has the king’s support. To compose a solution and calm the arguments, Granny Sonata sends both princes on a fantastinotic adventure to find and bring back the Magical Lyre. However, the wizard Messy will bring additional disharmony to the situation so that the princes will have to work together to overcome all obstacles, numerous villains, and strange creatures to fulfill their goal. During this adventure they’ll meet new friends, enemies, and make some unexpected decisions. In the end, everything will become more peaceful and harmonious, as The Magical Lyre plays its tones.
