The art installation exhibition has been opened on October 2nd in Herceg Novi. The exhibition, produced by the Kotor festival of theatre for children and organized by JUK Herceg fest, has been installed in the area from the Buffet Beograd till the passage under the Clock Tower. It’s composed out of 14 art installation made by affirmed artists and creators.
The opening performance “Stories under the Lamp” was performed by a local actor Dejan Djonović, together with the students of “Milan Vuković” primary school from Herceg Novi. The performing act started from the installation of the Town door named “Welcome to the city of children”. Before opening the door, Dejan Djonović wished the children luck in the new school year. Passing through the door, the students, while leading the audience from one installation to another, vivifying the art pieces and their symbolism.
The performance was supported by one of Boka’s famous writers, Nikola Malović, who read a quote of his book “The seagull who laughs” standing at the door of a bookshop, underneath an installation called “Seagull Jonathan”.
For many years, these art installations have been adorning Kotor’s old town during the Kotor festival of theatre for children, but this was the first year we moved them out of our town. Herceg Novi is the first local town host of our 14 art installations, which has perfectly merged with the town ambiance and brought back memories of so many heroes and stories of the world of art for children.
Art installations exhibited are: Festivals throne, Fish bites another fish’s tail, Goldfish, Second desk from the door, Seagull Jonathan, Gulliver’s laundry, A trip to the moon, Welcome to the city of children, Brooms without a witch, The magic lamp, Everything stopped only the children grow, Flock, Strange fruit and the Invisible man. Authors of the installations mentioned above are: Marjan Šantić, Gimnazija Kotor, NVO “Meštar i Furešta”, Dejan Mirošević, Mitar Jovanović, Goran Moškov, Lina Leković, Željko Reljić, Ivana Lazarević i Ana Zarubica.
We would like to remind again, that the production and exhibition of these art installations is supported by the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro and organized in Herceg Novi by the Kotor festival of theatre for children in cooperation with JUK Herceg fest.
