The second day of the 31st Kotor Festival of Theatre for Children was marked with the smiles of children that made this magical atmosphere in the Old Town especially energetic.

The Festival's competition theatre programme opened with the play Do Birds Have the Capacity for Fun? of the BITEF Theatre from Serbia, which took place in Nikola Djurkovic Cultural Centre. A bit older children had an opportunity to meet two superheroes: a woman-tree and a man-bird, and remind themselves that the world is not and should not be anthropocentric – because people are just part of nature which also has its right to grow, bloom, fly, sing, run, peck, and even have fun.

The play ''The Snow White'' performed by the Little Theatre ''Dusko Radovic'' from Serbia gathered children of various ages on a full Summer Stage, and told them a story of the unbreakable friendship of Gerda and Kaj who, each in their own way, do their best to deal with changes happening to them in the period when it’s easy to get hurt, but also, with the help of a friend, heal.

At the Cinema Square, the follow-up programme of the children's performing arts began with the youngest members of the ''Wizard'' Theatre Troupe, from the ''Dragan Kovacevic'' Public Preschool Institution from Niksic who tickled the audience's imagination with the programme called ''Wonderland''.

The programme continues tonight and we expect an equally enjoyable atmosphere and wacky children's energy which positively affects us grown-ups too.

At 21:30h, the competition programme continues on the Summer Stage with the play Mulan performed by Theatre for Children and Youth Kragujevac, who will bring to life an ancient Chinese poem in a theatrical form.

The first Literary Night of the festival, Fantastic People of Kotor, will take place at 20:30h at Cinema Square. This is a promotion of the Regional Fantasy Literature Festival 'Refesticon'.

Playful children from the NGO ''Children of Tivat'' and Children's Alliance Podgorica will present the programme When Wings Grow Out, at the Square of Arms at 21h.

Let us remind you that the Kotor Festival of Theatre for Children is organised by the Municipality of Kotor – Secretariat of Culture, Sports and Social Activities.
